Based out of Rockport, Washington, in the
foothills of the beautiful and majestic North Cascades, John's Guide
Service is here to offer you the ultimate fishing, hunting or scenic
river float experience.
As a full-time, second generation guide with
almost twenty years of full time guiding experience, owner John Koenig
is no stranger to the Pacific Northwest hunting and fishing scene. John
has access to some of the best fishing and hunting Washington State has
to offer right out his back door and sharing that lifelong love of the
great outdoors with others at all ages and experience levels is what
he's all about.
Living within walking distance of the Sauk River
and the world famous Skagit River, John has access to some of the best
fishing Washington State has to offer. He guides anglers not only on
his home waters of the Sauk and Skagit River, but also the most
productive rivers in the Pacific Northwest, including the Olympic
Peninsula, for all five Salmon species, Steelhead, Sturgeon, Dolly
Varden, and Trout. John's guided fishing trips last approximately six
to eight hours offering both gear and fly fishermen (and women) the
best opportunities available throughout the year.
Traveling in style and comfort from one of John's boats, all gear,
bait, tackle, instruction and sense of humor is provided for your trip.
While John has an impressive selection of gear for
your use from the absolute best names in the industry during you're
guided fishing trip he considers his most significant asset to be his
exemplary customer service.
John's Guide Service also offers guided archery
and modern firearm hunts in the foothills of the North Cascades (less
than a 2 hour drive North of Seattle), offering ample opportunities at Black
Bear, Black-tail Deer, Mule Deer, White-tail Deer, Ruffed and Blue
Grouse, Waterfowl and more.
Here, deep in the famed evergreen forests and on the misty banks of the
local watersheds, game thrive in some of the most beautiful habitat in
the United States.
Whether it's an afternoon of grouse hunting, or a full out black bear
adventure, John is committed to getting you up close and personal with
your desired harvest species. When not out on the water guiding fishing
trips John takes the time to regularly scout all of the areas he guides
hunts on all year long. Simply put, there's no one else in the Northern
Puget Sound area who guides these woods better.
If you enjoy both hunting and fishing why not try
a "Cast and Blast"? This all day
adventure combines goose and
duck hunting with some of the best winter steelhead
fishing in the state.
Just looking for a change of scenery? The Skagit
River, which John calls home, is a federally designated Wild
and Scenic River and boasts the largest
population of wintering Bald Eagles in the lower 48 states,
making it a great location for a scenic float.
John is state and USCG licensed, fully insured and
first aid and CPR trained and certified. John's Guide Service also
operates under a USFS permit on the Skagit River System for fishing
trips and in the North Cascades while guiding hunts.
With all this in mind, from beginner
to experienced, from gear fisherman to fly fisherman (and women), from
bow hunter to rifle hunter, or just an outdoor enthusiast, John
provides you with the quality experience you should expect from a
professional guide service.
